For over 10 years, Don and I have laughed our way closer to Jesus.
We can start off by reading scripture, and before we know it, we are poking fun at each other about how unworthy we are to have Jesus love us. Then we begin to laugh. I want to believe Jesus is laughing as well, not with us, but
at the two goofballs calling themselves good Catholic boys.
Leading Each Other to Christ
Don leads me closer to Christ. I have had people who I thought were my friends in the past who did not practice their faith. As I moved closer to Christ, those people pushed back from our friendship. Maybe I made them feel uncomfortable, or guilty. While I did not push my new found spirituality on them, I began to change. I did not want to spend as much time with these old friends since I found friends like Don.
We could talk about our life and our journey with Christ. Where we turned away from Christ, and how we knew we had to find our way back to His path. Of course within this mix were our careers, our problems with our careers, and our families. Real life.
Laugh at This Life
My wife Patrice knows that when I tell her Don and I are having lunch or a beer after work, that I’m in good company and that I’ll come through the door with a big fat smile on my mug because Don makes me laugh at myself and at life.
Don is the call I will always take when my “do not disturb” feature is on. Don is the one who will volunteer to drive hours with me to an appointment just so we can spend time together.
Find Your Friend In Christ
My advice to anyone who cares to hear it, go find a Don of your own, someone who will lead you to heaven, and help keep you away from the other place.
Anecdotes are those small little stories that everybody tells. Life is interesting because of the stories told, especially those that are based in truth. Of course, a little exaggeration can always help it along.
Some people are just really good at remembering and reflecting on how certain situations were in the past. When these people tell their personal stories or stories about others, they are told in such a way, that all you want to do at that exact moment, is listen to hear what happened.
There are many actors in our lives who haven’t hit the big screen, yet they enrich our lives with their ability to entertain us with their wise vision of the world.
Recent projects I’ve undertaken have required a great deal of understanding cause and effect, planning, workflow, processes and putting to work LEAN. I searched what it means to be a “detail person.” Continue reading “Do You Prefer Cause or Effect?”
Faith is an overlooked quality today. Faith feeds the soul which we’ve forgotten about in our busy day. Intellect, physical pleasures and leisure fill our hearts and minds. But, you deserve better, your soul longs for answers and peace but you must water the mustard seed, you must tend to your soul to find that inner peace.
Taking time to be at peace with yourself, your marriage, family, work, and communities is a daily exercise worth the investment of time. This is much better than pills, drugs, or worldly distractions from the truth of life. No more anger, frustration, bullying, just peace and joy. Heaven on earth. Think it’s impossible? Just spend a few minutes now with God. It’s easy. Continue reading “Words 1,568 Years Old, Are Relevant for You Today”
The Church beautifully offers daily readings, if you read the daily readings, over 3 years you read the entire Bible. In today’s readings, Saul’s faithfulness is rewarded not with profit, prosperous success, health, wealth, and security; no, today we read about the end of his life.
The promise of profit, prosperous, success, health, wealth, and security isn’t what Saul receives in the end. Being chosen, having God’s promise of life, belongs entirely to God. It is not for your benefit that he gave you life, it is for Continue reading “God’s Work”
